The MomProm fundraising events began in Canton Michigan in 2006. Since then MomProms have been held in 21 states throughout the United States. Each MomProm is locally organized and benefits whatever cause the local organizers choose to support. You can learn more about MomProm at www.momprom.org.
In 2014, Western Mass MomProm made its debut. After losing a dear friend to breast cancer in 2013, event chairwoman Crystal Miller designated the Rays of Hope Foundation as the beneficiary of Western Mass MomProm. That first year, more than 100 women, dressed in bridesmaid dresses, mother-of-the bride dresses, cocktail dresses, and even one lady in her wedding gown, descended upon the Springfield Marriott for an amazing night of dancing, raffles, cocktails, photo booth fun, and incredible memories.
MomProm 2015 raised over $5000 and doubled in attendance from the previous year.
In 2016, MomProm partnered with Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, part of the American Cancer Society. Proceeds were donated to cancer survivors in the Pioneer Valley. Our donation was $7000.
A new board took on the task of continuing the great work of the Western Mass Mom Prom for 2017. Marianne and Tammy appeared on Mass Appeal, Rock 102 and WMAS with the Kellogg Krew to spread the word about Mom Prom. They also attended the Wicked in Pink event hosted by Bob Kaine Alves. We raised over $8000 and granted 33 Pink Passes in 2017. We had the largest raffle table and auction to date. We reached out to new business and received great support from the community. Also new in 2017, we invited female business owners to attend as vendors to promote their business. Many great contacts were make and the beginning of many great friendships.
We are already preparing for the 2018 Western Mass Mom Prom with fundraising events. Follow our Facebook page for all the great events coming up. We will continue to reach out for sponsorship and support from the community.
We are proud to announce that this years fundraising will benefit both American Cancer Society and Rays of Hope.
We encourage you to nominate friends and family members who are battling cancer and would enjoy out night out with the ladies. 2018 Western Mass Mom Prom will be a night to remember. Join us for our Pink & Black Masquerade Themed Ball.
